A brief tutorial on how to upload and share files through OneDrive.
15 STEPS
1
The first step is to open Microsoft Office 365. Please sign in with your WQSB credentials if prompted.
Click OneDrive.
2 Click + New
3
Click Folder.
This will allow you to create a folder specific to the files you would like to share.
4 Type the name for your folder
5 Click your newly created folder (ex. video upload folder)
6 Click Upload
7
Select whether you would like to upload individual files or an entire folder's contents from your computer.
In this example, click Files. You will then select the files from your computer to upload.
8
Notice how we now have a newly uploaded file in the folder. Depending on size, this may take some time. There will be a status icon in the upper-right corner while uploading.
To share this folder with others, click Share.
9
Here you can set the sharing permissions and choose how you will share the folder.
Click Anyone with the link can edit to see the sharing permission options.
10
It is encouraged to only select Anyone with the link when necessary. Otherwise restrict access to school board accounts (will include students) or choose Specific people.
In this example, select People in WQSB with the link.
11
By default, users will be able to edit the contents and files within your folder.
If you would like users to only be able to view the contents of the folder, uncheck Allow editing.
12 Click Apply once the settings are configured as needed.
13
To share this folder, you can enter names or email addresses directly into this dialogue, compose an email in Outlook with the link included, or copy the link to your clipboard to share as needed.
In this example, click Copy Link.
14
Click Copy.
Notice how the message below the Copy button confirms your settings for the link.
15
That's it! You now have a shareable link to your folder that you can paste into an email, instant message, calendar invitation, website, or anywhere else you would like to share.
